Description: I made this photograph at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC in the early evening. This couple either just threw ashes into the tidal basin or they are about to throw the ashes. The urn sits at their feet while they look into the distance. I wanted to highlight the sadness and feeling of loss. I kept the bag in which that they brought the urn to show the journey of the urn. I wanted a shallow depth of field to focus attention on the couple and the urn. I handheld a Canon 7D, 1/125, F4, ISO 100
