Totally unplanned, four years ago, and here is the ‘back story’ ?.
While shooting in Puerto Rico, my original idea was to shoot the model with the umbrella against the color complement of the wall, but as she put up the large umbrella, a piece of her blue dress got caught, and almost as quickly, she started to pull the dress down (a normal reaction for sure) but that’s when I said, “No, don’t! Leave it there as it adds a nice ‘surprise’ bit of unexpected tension to an otherwise calm and relatively quiet composition.” Let the controversy begin. I’m listening, but I am the side of ‘fine art’ plus three cheers for the serendipitous moment! Nikon D810, Nikkor 24-120mm, F/11@1/200sec. 400 ISO
