We were having one of those “best places for photos” discussions and if you know me, my answer is always the same, “bloom where you are planted”, but then the conversation got specific, as in “best places for sunrises and sunsets, and I surprised myself, a little, but then not really, as I quickly blurted out “Holland!”, and more specifically West Friesland, Holland. Granted the weather is not always favorable to witness these compelling sunrises/sunsets BUT when the weather is in your favor, a real spectacle of light, color and mood promises to greet you, so making that incredibly difficult decision to set a 4:30am alarm is actually not incredibly difficult at all, knowing that shots like this are at almost every turn as you travel along the small country roads that parallel the dikes and windmills between West Beemster to the south and Opmeer to the north.
You keep shooting!
