Title: Grandma's Fans

Description: A tribute to my grandmother. She had a lovely collection of vintage fans. For this composition I chose 11 that were the lightest in color (to enhance translucency). Shot on light table, 5 EV's apart, processed in Nik HDR 2, then taken into LAB color space. From there I worked with both L channel inversions and L channel equalizations to get the background to go from white to black which enhanced the texture of the materials the fans were made of. Once there I went to Sliver Efx Pro and made a few different iterations, layered into PS and then selectively masked to bring out my favorite parts of each fan. I really liked all versions (color, LAB L channel color and black and white) but decided to share the BW as it is probably the most "graphic".
