A funny play on words, the Nikon acronym, CH, which means “Continuous High”, a reference to the rapid firing frame rate of Nikon’s camera’s when CH is selected, a selection I have found to be seldom used by many of my workshop students initially, but by the workshops close, they come to realize it is the ONLY selection to use and nit surprising, it is because they discover that CH, offers up a “continuous high” of emotionally rewarding images as well, in particular when photographing any potential subject where both actions and gestures are truly fleeting!
Most recently, in fact just yesterday in Thimpu, Bhutan, the ‘unveiling’ of expressions/gestures is all captured in the CH mode, a very fast firing frame rate of roughly 9-shots per second, three of which you see here, a sequence that began with a simple portrait seasoned with some humorous conversation and voila...if your picture taking efforts are more hit and miss then chances are equally good that your emotional photographic health is constantly up and down too, so consider moving off of single-shot mode and choosing CH on the camera and soon you will be enjoying the continuous high of emotionally rewarding images!
