Why photography? The reasons are many, including it’s ability to create a record of an event, such as a birthday, wedding, concert or that once in a lifetime vacation. The images we take today can give us pause later, if only that they can make us stop and reflect on what was going on ‘then’ in contrast perhaps to what is going now.
The vibrant and colorful composition seen here in todays post was taken almost six years ago, in Tucson, Arizona at the once vibrantly painted City Hall, a photograph that will NEVER be repeated. Just two weeks ago, while in Tucson, I discovered that this entire location is in the process of being rebuilt as residential lofts and condominiums and the once very colorful City Hall has been relocated, sans color, further proof that ‘change’ is constant and proof that photography can in fact immortalize what once was.
