Lalibella, Ethiopia, famed for its ‘rock churches’ literally carved out of the rocky hillsides by “forty-thousand laborers by day, and thousands of angels by night” creating Seven rock churches, connected by narrow passageways, uneven stairs and archways, some of which are too narrow, too steep or too short, making passage a bit precarious for those with any balance issues.
