Jumper

Jumper

Several minutes prior to shooting this frame, a frame of two brothers and the one brothers wife, the young girl in red, the young red ‘jumper’ had entered this lavender painted farmhouse, through the window to ‘hide’ from my camera, fearful of seeing the ‘ghost’ of herself and yet as I began firing away at various compositions/poses of mom and dad and uncle, her acute hearing of my camera’s motor drive, was still frightening enough to her that she thought somehow, my camera was able to penetrate the wall, still capable of capturing the ‘ghost’, frightened so much in fact that she bolted out the window, and what a very fortunate and unexpected event since in my view it has made a far more interesting narrative...as I’ve always said, “you keep shooting!”, even when unexpected subjects bolt out nearby windows while shooting a family portrait!
