I wanted to re-visit the WB settings/questions I often hear in my photography workshops. The option to change/choose the WB, at ant given moment is probably my second most liked feature of shooting digitally. (Changing ISO, from one shot to the next if I desire, is my favorite feature; this coming of course from a guy who shot film for 30+ years.) Ninety-five percent of the time, I’m shooting in a Daylight/Sunny WB, but I will almost always, WHEN SHOOTING SUNSETS, will make one or two photos with SHADE WB, (at that moment, not later in post) just to explore, to see, how the much warmer, deeply golden color impacts my reaction to the scene, and sometimes, I really like the effect, which was certainly the case with these three backlit images. Consider the SHADE option at your next sunset and you might discover a far more compelling option than what a Daylight WB setting is producing.
You keep shooting!
