Summer of 2018, this really was my FIRST rodeo, and as is often the case when shooting sports, including rodeos, the normal train of thought is to emphasize those fast, fleeting moments, to freeze the action at its peak, (Image#2/#3) allowing the viewer to share an intimate moment of intense emotion on the part of the riders, but as usual, my restless mind wants to know “what if” I go against the ‘rules’ (Image#1) and try some panning of the bucking bronco competition, “WHOOOHOOO, ride ‘em cowboy!”
