Description: I was intrigued by the the lighting of this blacksmith at a renaissance festival with the dark background of his workspace. He was working just outside of the edge of his shed. It was harsh mid afternoon somewhat side lit. The harsh light and shadows add to the gritty look I was striving for to get a sense of the hard dirty work that a blacksmith has to endure. Fast shutter speed was used to freeze the motion of the hammer. Some minimal stylizing was done in post processing to create a vintage almost Norman Rockwell kind of look. Cropped to an 8x10. Handheld.
