Five Elements

Five Elements

Of the five elements of design, line, texture, shape, form and pattern, LINE is without question the most powerful in photographic composition. Lines not only indicate a subjects visual weight, thick or thin, but lines also indicate a visual direction, up and down, side to side, as well as fast or slow, especially when presented on the diagonal, yet, arguably, nothing is more powerful then a leading line and when that leading line joins up with other leading lines, the VOLUME of that now very powerful ‘voice’ is at a fever pitch, as these three images show, 1) Chicago’s Amphitheater at Millennium Park, 2) a french landscape in Provence and 3) an outdoor wedding in a park near ‘Old’ Las Vegas. You can do this! All images Nikon D500 With 18-300mm or D810 with 24mm-120mm, you keep shooting!
